01Start crafting at level 10
At level 10, visit a crafting NPC to see available items and their required materials. Crafting improves your skill in that profession, making more recipes available.
- Choose the item or profession you want to explore.
- Find its NPC in the list below and inspect the recipe requirements in-game.
- Check the required materials before collecting or spending anything.
- After crafting, review your skill and available recipes to see your next option.
02The six professions and their NPCs
Use the NPC names when looking for the right crafting interface. The launch notes do not provide their locations, so this is a profession reference rather than a travel route.
| Profession | Crafting NPC |
|---|---|
| Smithing | Silas Irons |
| Weaponcrafting | Mr. Thunder |
| Tailoring | Francois |
| Woodcrafting | Vicious |
| Leatherworking | JM From tha Streetz |
| Arcforge | Chrishrama |
03Plan around the recipe you can see
A useful first goal is an item whose requirements you can check in-game. Compare what it needs with what you already have, then decide whether to work toward it.
The official overview does not give a complete recipe list, material farming routes, or the number of crafts needed for each skill level. It also does not establish which profession earns the most mesos.
- Do not assume that a recipe from another MapleStory version exists here.
- If an item is missing from the list, inspect your profession skill and the current crafting interface. The notes confirm that more recipes unlock with skill, but do not supply every threshold.
04Before your first craft
This guide follows the October 21 official launch overview; the recipes and skill progression have not been tested by us.
